I was just working on my Norse myth diagram and thought this just looks like such a great image, even if it’s still work in progress. Hopefully I’ve have this done by the end of tonight.
Recently I’ve started filling a sketchbook to practice and improve my drawing skills while listening to music or radio shows. Here’s some of the pages so far.
Although it might not look much different, I’ve completely redone the website from scratch in HTML/CSS (as pose to using a web editor program).
However, I’ve added 1 new piece (the competition project) and there’s been changes to the layout.
Started again with this font. Looks a lot better and I tried it out as the cover page design idea. Still needs some touching up (some letters look a bit dodgy) but I’m making progress…
A bit of a failed attempt at an idea I had for the front cover title text. Too many inconsistencies and I will make it more blocky instead so it’s inline with the book style.
Here’s a typeface I tried out using rings/circles as a guide. I know I said I’d lay off circles for a bit but I really want to experiment more with this whole circle typeface thing… This was originally the style I came up with for the kid’s book cover, but as you can see it’s not really an ideal typeface for that kind of audience. I think I’ll develop this a bit more, then I’ll work on the other idea I had for the book cover type.
I’ve been trying to develop a typeface based on the Olympic hoops for the new Andy Go Joe book Cover, but it’s been challenging. I came up with the idea but it hasn’t turned out so well. It’s a bit hard to read and there’s a lot problems with the letters’ shape. I think it might be back to the drawing board with this one, but I will have to try and see if I can make this work another way… Any suggestions?
(5/8) book illustrations done. I’ve managed to get a lot of work done the past few days on Andy Go Joe & the Garden Olympics.
After painstakingly cutting out each individual business card (I can’t afford to pay out for die-cutting), I’ve produced enough for myself.
